Huawei , a smartphone manufacturer from China, has increased sales in the second quarter of this year and took the second place on this indicator, pushing Apple aside.

Between April and June, the sales increased by almost 40%, which is approximately 50 million devices. Apple was able to increase its sales by only 1% to 45 million devices.

Huawei introduces new features into phones and increases the line to participate in all market segments. The company’s positions have also strengthened thanks to investments in the brand Honor.

The leader of the market is Samsung (South Korea). Even a slight decline in sales statistics, which have fallen by 13%, did not prevent the company from remaining a leader and realize more than 72 million devices, which is half as much as the second-largest manufacturer.

The total number of devices sold worldwide in the second quarter, has grown by 2%, compared to the same period in 2017. All in all, 374 million devices have been sold.

In general, the market share relative to operating systems has remained unchanged. 88% of smartphones are running Android, while iOS posesses only 11.9% of the market. The remaining 0.1% is the OS of other manufacturers – a little more than 100 thousand devices. In the second quarter of 2018, Samsung got a leading position in the market. The company owns one-fifth of all world sales. Huawei , which owns 13%, took the second place. Apple is the third with its 12%. The forth position belongs to Xiaomi with almost 9% of the market and Oppo, which has got 7.5%, is the last. This is the top five leaders in the smartphone market.
