MetaMask, an Ethereum wallet owned by the firm ConsenSys, now has a mobile version for iOS and Android, reports Cryptonews.com. From the interview with the company’s Head of Products, the source has learned that the mobile version would improve the adoption of the cryptocurrency wallet. Especially in countries where people do not own desktop computers or laptops, the mobile application will come in handy.
According to the source, the company wants to expand its audience even further. This is because more than 65% of the platform’s users live outside of the US or Europe. Before the launch of the applications, users could use a web extension to receive services.
As per MetaMask’s website, the extension and app both allow for easy management of digital assets through a cryptocurrency wallet. Without leaving the platform, users also can access other blockchain-based apps. For users who already have the web extension, the process of synchronizing their existing wallet with the mobile app is very simple.
Active cryptocurrency traders as well as passive investors need a cryptocurrency wallet to safely store their digital assets. With a crypto wallet, users can safe the private and public keys for managing their crypto. There are hardware wallets, web-based applications, and mobile wallets.
